Chapter 24: Ch. 24 Stanley’s Concern

Stanley’s brow furrowed at the various reports that Audrey had received. Audrey had to hack the security system of the Hong Kong government to find out the ins and outs of Anxia, ??the woman who was currently with Richard heading to his house after registering their marriage.

Qiao Anxia... no. The woman’s real name was Zhao Anxia, ??the granddaughter of Mister Zhao, whom he had framed for decades at his client’s request.

Due to the numbers matching, he turned on Zhao’s company expenses, and his company became bankrupt and in debt. Stanley did not know the family’s fate next, but he did learn that the son of Zhao managed to work in the Wong family company and get a reasonably high position.

Who would have thought that another ‘game’ from the other side caused Anxia’s father to go to prison while her mother was admitted to a mental hospital due to mental disorders?

Master Yu, one of the Hong Kong triad leaders, made Anxia his ultimate killing machine. The child’s name was no longer Zhao Anxia ??but changed to Qiao Anxia.

Did Richard know all these things? If his son already knew, why did Richard insist on making that dangerous woman his wife?

No one would know when she would discover the mastermind behind the bankruptcy of the grandfather she never knew, but her hatred and thirst for blood must be so deep that it would link her misfortune to everyone who had hurt her family.

.....

It could be that the woman deliberately approached his son for revenge!

Stanley stroked his forehead with a sigh. Yet it was only a few dozen years ago that they had just finished facing the threat of danger from their family in the states, and they had just enjoyed a happy life without fearing external enemy threats.

But why now his eldest son brings an assassin who seems never to want to stop hating everyone into his family?

He had to lecture his son later when he got home.

“Stanley?” Meisya looked behind the door for her husband, who did not come out. “What is it?”

Stanley looked at his wife lovingly, and a smile crossed his face. If ordinary people saw his expression, they’d think Stanley wasn’t in a bad mood or worried about something.

But Meisya realized it. She recognized this fake smile of her husband very well. Whenever Stanley tried to hide something or play a role, her husband’s smile would appear insincere and not reach the eyes.

“What is it? Don’t you like having a grandchild early? I like her very much. She’s such a sweet kid.”

Meisya walked over to her husband to hug his waist, her right hand wrapped around his husband’s waist while her left hand gently stroked Stanley’s chest.

“Stanley, I understand your feelings. I want to punch that boy, too. How dare he impregnated some girl behind our back? You’ll see when he comes home; I’ll beat him to death.”

Stanley’s tense body relaxed, and he gave an amused smile at his wife’s words.

Ah, it would be nice if their adorable granddaughter’s mother’s family background was as simple as Meisya thought.

“We can’t cry over the spilled milk, nor can we change this reality, Stanley.”

“I know, I know.” Stanley kissed his wife’s forehead and sighed in resignation.

What his wife said was true. The child was born and had absolutely nothing to do with the mother’s background.

If her granddaughter’s mother had such a heartbreaking childhood, then she didn’t want her granddaughter to go through the same thing. If the woman intends to enter the family, she must be willing to quit her job and cut ties with whoever has hired her.

If she refused, he would hide Lori from her and make sure the two would never see each other again until her mother quit her job.

Stanley had often experienced the feeling of having loved ones kidnapped by his enemies. His wife, niece, and his youngest daughter, who once had been forcibly taken to another world. It was an unpleasant and torturous feeling.

He didn’t want to feel it again after enjoying a peaceful and joyful life for a dozen years.

Stanley didn’t want to hear that someone in his family had been kidnapped or suddenly disappeared without him being able to find him. He did not want to return to face a foreign enemy who disturbed the peace of his family.

That’s why he wanted his future daughter-in-law to quit her job thoroughly. He was sure Richard would agree. Even if his stupid son did not obey his wishes, then he would force his son.

Of course, Stanley didn’t have to worry about his eldest son’s decision because Richard had told Anxia the same thinking.

Unfortunately, Anxia had no intention of stopping, and Richard knew it well. It was not easy to bring someone who was used to living in a world of violence just like that. He knew Anxia was playing her role as an excellent wife to quit her profession.

That’s why, after they registered their marriage at the Dutch government office, Richard asked for all communication tools and sharp objects that the girl had brought.

Richard shook his head as his bride fished out all the hidden danger items from the tight black costume that Anxia was wearing. There were at least ten small knives tied to her leather waist belt. Then there was also a tiny needle that could be extended hidden between her teeth. Its function was to open a lock if both her hands were chained with a padlock.

Then there’s the old-fashioned phone that couldn’t be tracked by a computer and a pager that could only receive messages.

“Is this all?”

“...”

Anxia didn’t answer and just looked into the eyes of the man who was now legally her husband.

“Xia Xia, we won’t be leaving until you hand everything over.”

Anxia’s hands were clenched into fists as she wished she had at least one tool she could use to signal Ling Meng. But apparently, Richard knew it and urged her to give it up.

With a reluctant motion but eyes still filled with a murderous aura towards Richard, Anxia slid her hands behind her back into her black t-shirt.

Richard glared at her in surprise, not expecting his wife to take off her bra. Richard immediately glanced with warning glances at the personal assistant and several bodyguards. They instantly looked away and turned around so as not to see the scene of Anxia taking off her bra.

Richard held his breath as his wife took off her bra easily and handed it to Richard in a casual motion.

“It’s all. Happy?”
