Chapter 362

“okay.”

Moses handed her the purchased items. From his angle, even if people were outside, they

could not see what he was doing, let alone recognize Cynthia as the person opening the

door.

After delivering the items, Moses followed Cynthia’s instructions and waited outside.

Cynthia took out the items Moses had bought and selected one to inject into Joshua. Then

she waited there.

After about ten minutes, Joshua’s body temperature gradually turned normal, and he

began to regain consciousness.

Cynthia turned on the signal jammer again and said casually, “Once you wake up, put on

your clothes and leave.”

Joshua was confused and stared at her, surprised by her nonchalant tone.

He thought Cynthia was a heartless woman.

“What are you lying around for?” Cynthia, seeing that he had opened his eyes but had not

moved, reminded him, “You disappeared for over an hour. Grandpa and the others might

be looking for you.”

Joshua remained silent. Then, he got up and changed his clothes.

Throughout the entire process, his eyes remained dark

front

Five minutes later, Joshua had finished dressing and tidying himself up and he appeared in

front of Cynthia.

“When you’re done, get out.”

Cynthia approached the bed and messed it up.

“What are you doing?” Joshua was awake now, but his head still felt a bit uncomfortable,

and his thoughts were somewhat sluggish.

“Letting the people behind this think we slept together so that they’ll proceed to the next

step,” Cynthia replied casually and emotionlessly.

As she spoke, she messed up the bed.

After attending to these tasks, Cynthia reopened the items from earlier and removed the

towels, damp tissues, and other items covering the stuff.

In no time, the room was filled with fragrance once again.

This time, Joshua instinctively headed toward the bathroom, subconsciously covering his

mouth and nose with a towel,

Cynthia took her already-dried clothes, inspected the room to ensure everything was in

order, and got dressed. Then, she casually ran her fingers through her hair, opened the

door, and walked out.

Joshua looked at the opened door, feeling somewhat in disbelief.

They could finally open the door?

“Hold on,” Joshua called out to her, feeling a pain in the back of his neck.

Cynthia had just stepped outside with one foot when she heard him. Then, she turned to

look at him, asking indifferently, What is it?”

“Did you hit me?” Joshua asked the question that had been on his mind since waking up.

After coming out of the bathroom, he felt a sudden pain in the back of his neck. Before he

could even process what was happening, he passed out.

Cynthia did not see any need to hide it and admitted, “Yes.”

Joshua was speechless.

She had hit him, yet she was so unapologetic about it.

“Don’t tell anyone about what happened today. That person will likely make a move again

in a while,” Cynthia reminded him. as she was leaving.

After saying this, she could not care less about Joshua’s reaction and left without looking

back.

Joshua followed her outside. However, he saw Moses standing outside the door just as he

was about to catch up with her,

“What are you doing here?”

“Cynthia called me and asked me to come up.”

Joshua paused, lost in thought.

She called Moses?

In that instant, Joshua suddenly realized something.

Cynthia was completely different from other people. She did not need his protection, and

she could handle everything on her own, organizing her thoughts and considering matters

without his help.

During the time he was unconscious, she had taken care of everything.

To her, it made no difference whether he was there or not.

Moses noticed that something was off with Joshua’s mood.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing. Ask Mom and Dad to keep Cynthia’s dad occupied. It would be best if they could

have a conversation at the manor. I need to talk to Cynthia.” Joshua pushed his emotions

aside.

“That might be difficult.”

“Why?”

“Just before I came up, Mr. Yates finished talking with Mom and Dad and was looking for

Cynthia.”

Moses’s words brought Joshua back to the harsh reality.
