Chapter 316

Before Kendrick made the call, Lionel’s call came.

“Mr. Yates, should I pick you up from Mr. Neal’s house, or will you come to the company

yourself?”

For Kendrick, this sentence was like a bolt from the blue, shattering his last bit of hope.

“Did I really leave with Joshua last night?”

“Yes, Mr. Yates.”

“Why didn’t you stop me? As my secretary, is it appropriate for you to let the CEO of a

cooperating company take me away?” Kendrick was completely shattered.

“It’s not appropriate,” Lionel responded without hesitation.

“Then why did you let Joshua take me away?”

“I wanted to take you back myself, but you rejected me and chose Mr. Neal. Both of you

told me to leave, so I had no choice but to leave,” Lionel spoke truthfully

Honestly, Lionel was still puzzled as to why Kendrick would go with Joshua instead of with

him. After all, they had only

recently met Joshua.

Kendrick hung up the phone decisively, collapsing into despair as he rested his head on

the table. Then, he looked at Cynthia as if he had lost all hope

“Cyn, just kill me. I don’t want to live anymore.”

Embarrassing.

It was too embarrassing!!

“Let’s not be in a hurry to give up on life. You still have to apologize to Joshua and

compensate for the damaged items.” Cynthia’s words were like another stab to him while

he was down

Kendrick was puzzled

What damaged items?

Amidst the mix of emotions, he really wanted to die quickly and painlessly.

“What exactly happened at his place last night?”

“I don’t know the specifics, but when you called me, you imagined yourself as Superman.

You told me not to come and find you, saying that Joshua wanted to eliminate me and

claim to be the number one in the world.” Cynthia provided a general description as she

did not know the exact details.

Kendrick snapped,

What kind of insane remarks were these?!

“You also said he would beat Joshua up,” Cynthia added.

Kendrick remained silent.

Cynthia continued, “And one more thing.”

“What is it?

“You mistook the drunkenness from drinking as Joshua poisoning you and wanted to purge

the poison out of your system.” Cynthia always spoke with the utmost calmness, saying

the most plercing words.

This time, Kendrick truly wanted to find a hole to crawl into.

If only he had not watched so many fantasy TV shows and read so many superhero comics

before.

Chapter 316

This was simply too awkward for him.

“If you feel embarrassed to apologize, I can apologize on your behalf when I help him

recover the phone data, and I’ll make sure everything is compensated for.” Cynthia

understood Kendrick’s embarrassment, and slur probably would not want to

“I’ll go myself.”

Kendrick took a deep breath and decided.

“I’m sure.” Kendrick had made up his mind.

“Alright.” Cynthia did not stop him but just said, “Let me know when you’re going so that I

can go and handle the phone issue as well.”

Kendrick nodded.

The two of them casually tidied up and left

When Kendrick arrived at Yates Group with Cynthia, Lionel approached him as usual.

“Don’t wander around in front of me today. I don’t want to see you,” Kendrick coldly

rejected him.
