“You are expected to manage the company next year. If you don’t come to the team–

building event and get to know the management, you won’t know whn’s in charge of what

later.” Kendrick casually dropped a significant bombshell on her.

Cynthia was dumbfounded. “Who told you I was going to manage the company?”

“Uncle Jonathan, he has already decided to hand the company over to you,” Kendrick

replied nonchalantly.

Cynthia furrowed her brows. Had she not made it clear that she would not manage the

company?

“Aren’t you managing it quite well?”

“Who wouldn’t want a bit of freedom in life? Tell me, for how long have I been managing

this for you? Do I not deserve to find love and get married? Kendrick said seriously.

Cynthia responded earnestly, “The company’s affairs aren’t that burdensome.”

“If you attend the team–building event tomorrow, I might consider helping you manage for

another year. Come or not, it’s up to you.”

“Understood

With that, Cynthia ended the call. It was clear to her that she could not miss this team–

building event.

What she did not know was that after the call, Kendrick had reported to the people around

him. At that moment, he was with Shirley and Jonathan.

“Cyn has agreed to attend the team–building event tomorrow.” Kendrick sighed in relief,

feeling somewhat assured.

Shirley responded with a smile, “You really are the man!”

Jonathan asked, “She isn’t upset, is she?”

“Probably not. Her tone seemed normal, but she might reach out to you later to discuss

the management of the company.” Kendrick replied slowly, sounding unsure.

“it’s fine,” Jonathan dismissed.

“She doesn’t like crowds. Apart from the people she knows, let’s not team her up with

others tomorrow, Shirley mentioned.

“Don’t worry, I understand,” Kendrick responded.

Cynthia was completely unaware of these arrangements. Exhausted, she fell asleep as

soon as she finished the call.

The next morning, Cynthia went to work. As it was the last day of September, she and Moe

went to the Yates Group office. After all, Arch International Group had already given their

employees a holiday, hoping they would enjoy a delightful Columbus Day break

On the way to the Yates Group, Cynthia looked at her personal assistant, Moe. She had

headed to the team–building event at a leisurely pace. However, they did not expect to
