They were photographs of two printed images that contained the front and back sides of the family

badge Winnie had lost.

One had a black rose embossed on it, and the other had a black scepter.

Winnie instinctively turned to look at Xavier.

“What’s wrong?” Xavier frowned.

“You told me the badge is with you.” Winnie furrowed her brows and said.

Xavier was stunned. “This is my first time seeing this badge.”

“That’s right. You no longer remember.” Winnie’s frown deepened. Xavier didn’t remember anything

that happened after Yulissa appeared. It only made sense that he didn’t remember a thing about the

badge.

“Have you ever seen this in your office?” Winnie questioned again.

Xavier knitted his brows slightly. “No. This is yours. Did you lose it?”

“Yes.”

“Okay, I’ll help you find it,” Xavier said immediately.

He took the phone from Winnie’s hand and forwarded the two photos to his phone.

Winnie’s thoughts were a mess. She always thought that the badge was with Xavier. Now that things

had taken a sharp turn, she couldn’t grasp what was happening.

She turned around and asked Nate, “Did you only receive these two pictures at the time? Is there

nothing else?”

“Do you think others are fools? This is such an important item. Do you think someone would send the

real thing to someone like me, who has nothing to do with it? I’ve answered your question, and this

matter is over. Can my granddad take his rest now? Can I show you the door?”

“Nate.” Xavier didn’t like the way Nate was talking to Winnie. “Watch your attitude.”
