Chapter 495 Impersonating the God of War’s Wife

Upon hearing Sylvia’s warning, the armored battalion immediately stood in front of Willow.

Brandishing their weapons, they were ready to sacrifice themselves to protect Lord Caspian’s

wife.

Macy had been keeping watch of their surroundings. She fired the first shot the moment she saw the

attackers. As a seasoned soldier, her keen perception and insight were far from

ordinary.

The sound of gunshots echoed in the streets.

Scared stiff, Willow and Zoey quickly crouched down. The civilians on the streets ran away in

terror.

Sylvia immediately entered combat mode. As a general officer, she showed no signs of panic in the

face of danger. With her precise marksmanship, each of her bullets found its mark, killing

the attackers.

With their fast reaction, the armored soldiers were also not to be underestimated. However, a

few of them suffered severe gunshot wounds to protect Willow.

After engaging in a few minutes of fierce battle, the attackers were wiped out.

Several of the armored soldiers had collapsed on the ground. They had all suffered severe wounds to

protect Willow. Tears streamed down Willow’s face when she saw that the soldiers had taken multiple

bullets just to protect her.

Some of the soldiers rushed over when they noticed the situation. Even Joey, who had been

maintaining public order, came over with the inspectors.

“What happened?” one of the team leaders asked.

“These are all spies of the enemy. They came to assassinate me,” Sylvia said. The reason she said

that was to protect Willow.

The fewer people who knew Willow was Caspian’s wife, the better.

“Who are you? Why would they assassinate you?” the team leader asked. Although he was also a

soldier from South Aridlands, he had never seen Sylvia before.

“I’m a general officer, Sylvia Frost!” She took out her military ID.

“General Frost!” The teaín leader stood straight and saluted Sylvia the moment he saw her ID.

“Send these people to the hospital for treatment immediately,” Sylvia ordered. The armored soldiers

were badly wounded and needed immediate treatment.

“Yes!” he replied. The team leader instructed his subordinates to send the soldiers to the hospital in

their car. Sylvia also sent a few people to follow them.

“Are you alright, General Frost?” Joey asked concernedly. She had just rushed over.

“I’m alright. Thank you for your concern,” she replied.

“It’s the least I can do. Please be careful, General Frost,” Joey said.

“It’s just some spies. There’s nothing to fear,” Sylvia said indifferently. “Could you do me at favor, Ms.

Sanders? Please clean up the scene.”

“Huh?”

Joey was rendered speechless by Sylvia’s words. The inspector general was just about to become a

professional mortician.

She had hardly done any real work since she was appointed.

“Everyone, clean up the scene immediately. Don’t scare the civilians,” Joey ordered. Anyway, this was

something she had to do.

Joey and the others left after the situation had been handled.

“Don’t be sad, Willow. Our mission is to ensure your safety. Even I would sacrifice my life to protect

you,” Sylvia comforted Willow after seeing her cry.

“But I’m just an ordinary citizen. Even if I’m Caspian’s wife, surely there’s no need for sacrifice your life

to ensure my safety…” Willow wept.

“That…” Sylvia didn’t know how to answer her when she couldn’t reveal the details. “How could you

be an ordinary person, Willow?”

“That’s right, didn’t you say something about protecting the God of War’s wife? Am I the person you

were referring to?” Willow suddenly remembered Willow shouting that just now.

Sylvia didn’t know what to say. She didn’t dare to reveal Caspian’s identity.

“Right, I think I heard that too. Who’s the God of War’s wife? Surely it can’t be Willow?” Zoey

cut in.

Now, Sylvia was completely at a loss. She had made a slip of the tongue because of the urgent

situation. Now, she didn’t know how to make up an excuse.

Sylvia glanced helplessly at Macy, hoping she could help.

Macy immediately came forward upon seeing the situation. “Truth be told, I’m the God of War’s wife,”

she said shyly.

Everyone looked at her with disbelief the moment her words fell. Even Sylvia and the armored battalion

were stunned as they gazed at Macy.

2/3

Macy was truly bold. To think she would declare to be the God of War’s wife…

Macy’s face reddened. She had no choice. There was no way she would impersonate the God of.

War’s wife if it wasn’t to help Sylvia out!

After all, Willow and the others had no idea who the God of War was. They wouldn’t suspect a thing

even if she sprouted nonsense.

“What? You’re not tricking me, are you, Macy? If that’s the case, then why did everyone rush to protect

me just now? They should’ve gone to protect you if you’re the God of War’s wife, right?” Willow asked

puzzledly.

“Exactly. What’s going on? I saw that too. If you’re really the God of War’s wife, why are you hiding your

identity and pretending to be Willow’s bodyguard?” Zoey voiced her doubts.

This made Macy even more embarrassed. Her excuse was filled with loopholes.

“As you can see, I’m an expert in martial arts. How could the God of War’s wife be an ordinary person?

“I don’t need their protection. I’m hiding my identity so that no one can find me,” Macy began to talk

nonsense.

“You’re not tricking me, are you? Who’s your husband? Why don’t any of us know that you’re married?”

Willow asked again.

“I’m afraid I can’t tell you that,” Macy replied. She was afraid that she would give herself away if she

said any more.

“General Frost, I need you to call Avon immediately and get him to treat the armored soldiers. Make

sure he saves their lives,” Macy said commandingly to change the subject.

Sylvia was somewhat speechless. Although Macy was appointed as the general of the intelligence

department, her rank was not higher than Sylvia’s.

To think Macy dared to order her around…

But this was the only way to dispel Willow’s suspicions. so Sylvia decided to overlook it.

Those soldiers were all severely wounded and needed immediate treatment. Avon would definitely be

able to save them with his medical skills.

“Yes!” Sylvia gave Avon a call without hesitation.

“Sylvia, start the car immediately and take us away from here.” Feeling the power she held as the so–

called God of War’s wife, Macy issued another order to Sylvia.

“Yes!” Sylvia didn’t dare to ignore Macy’s orders. Right now, she had to cooperate with Macy’s act as

much as possible.

Chapter 496 A Woman’s Sixth Sense

Macy had always been the one to drive Sylvia around, but this time, she was pretending to be the wife

of the God of War. She even ordered Sylvia to drive her.

The armored soldiers could not hold back from laughing when they saw Macy giving orders to

Sylvia.

“Hurry up and get in the car. I’ll send both of you back,” Macy said to Willow and Zoey.

Both Willow and Zoey followed without hesitation.

Sylvia then drove the car to Riverside Villa.

The armored battalion also got into a car of their own and escorted Sylvia’s car.

“Are you really the God of War’s wife?” Willow asked again when she was inside the car.

Something did not feel right, but she could not put it into words.

“Why? Don’t I look like her?” Macy asked. She had already immersed herself in the role of the

God of War’s wife.

In fact, when she first met Caspian, she felt that she and Caspian were a match made in heaven.

“Are you tricking us, Macy? I don’t think you look like the God of War’s wife,” Zoey asked.

“Why? Are you doubting me as well?” Macy asked. She was getting annoyed that neither of them

believed her.

“Aren’t you Caspian’s subordinate? If you’re working for him, how did you suddenly become the God of

War’s wife?” Zoey asked.

Macy was momentarily stunned but fortunately for her, she was quick–witted.

“I really am the God of War’s wife even though my position may not be as high as Caspian’s. Moreover,

he made many contributions during wars. So, even though he’s only a general officer, his position is

higher than that of an ordinary officer.

“It’s also true that I’m his subordinate.” Macy made up a random reason.

If they kept questioning her, she would be exposed.

Sylvia smirked. She was in the driver’s seat as she listened to Macy with her blatant lies.

In less than half an hour, Sylvia had arrived at Riverside Villa.

When Willow and Zoey were about to enter the villa, Macy blurted, “Stop! Don’t enter the villa!

Both of them were momentarily stunned. They looked at Macy.

Even though she was the God of War’s wife, she had no authority to interfere with their plans.

“Something’s not right about the villa. Look at the lawn. It looks like someone walked on it,” Macy said

with her brows knitted together.

Sylvia and the armored battalion instantly became vigilant after hearing what Macy said.

They took their weapons out, getting themselves ready for any potential ambush.

Macy had been fighting in South Aridlands. She had good insight as well. She would not have said

such things lightly.

“The villa seems fine. What could be wrong?” Willow was momentarily stunned. She felt slightly

uneasy. She did not see anything unusual about the lawn as well.

Having just experienced an assassination, everywhere felt unsafe to her.

Sylvia could not afford to be careless either. She suddenly thought of the fact that she had brought

everyone with her when they left the villa. Nobody had stayed behind to do patrolling.

There was a possibility that their enemy might have sneaked in during that period!

“Protect Willow and retreat!” Sylvia ordered.

Macy escorted Willow and Zoey into the car.

Sylvia started the car again and began to reverse.

The armored battalion did the same as well.

When they had retreated about a hundred meters away, Sylvia asked Macy, “Tell going on?” She also

had the feeling that something was not quite right.

“A woman’s sixth sense is often very accurate,” Macy said.

“But we’re women too. Why didn’t we notice anything?” Zoey asked in a confused tone.

“Macy, go and take a look. I’ll be here protecting Willow,” Sylvia instructed.

“Got it!” Macy nodded.

Willow felt extremely moved when she saw that Macy was personally going over to investigate. Not

only was she the God of War’s wife, but she was also such an excellent warrior!

Macy led ten armored soldiers with her into the villa. The others stayed back to protect Willow.

After all, Willow was the real wife of the God of War.

Macy had faith that she could deal with any trouble that arose.

The armored battalion surrounded Willow’s car. They were watching the surroundings with hawk eyes.

Willow became nervous when she saw that the situation had gotten serious.

She was also questioning why they would protect her when she was just the wife of a general officer

instead of protecting the wife of the God of War.

Macy and the ten armored soldiers had already reached the entrance to the villa.

They walked into the villa with stealth.

The surroundings were silent, and the atmosphere was out of the ordinary.

All of them formed a circle and walked into the villa in this formation so that they could watch

out for each other..

Something happened as soon as they entered the hall.

At that moment, many men clad in black rushed out from all directions inside the villa’s hall. There were

even people observing from the second floor.

They raised their weapons and pointed them at Macy. They opened fire immediately.

Macy was right! There were secret agents lying in ambush in the villa!

Fortunately, Macy and the armored soldiers came prepared. They were constantly in a vigilant

mode.

They reacted quickly and were able to fight back instantly.

Gunshots could be heard throughout the entire villa.

Instantly, there was a hail of gunfire and bullets. The entire villa was turned into a battlefield.

Macy and the armored soldiers had gone through rigorous training. They were able to find a makeshift

bunker and organized a counter–attack immediately. Their opponent was no match. for them at all.

Nevertheless, they were still outnumbered. Many men clad in black appeared on the second floor. They

could clearly see everything that was happening on the first floor.

Macy and the armored soldiers were completely exposed and vulnerable to the enemies on the second

floor. This was a very dangerous situation for them. If they were not careful, they might get shot.

Willow, Sylvia, and the others heard the gunshots coming from the villa. They became anxious

as well.

Sylvia acknowledged Macy’s skills, but their opponents had come well–prepared. Judging from the

gunshots, there seemed to be many people on the opponents‘ side. This was very disadvantageous to

Macy and her team.

“Sylvia, something’s happening inside the villa! Hurry up and go help them!” Willow shouted as she was

worried.

“Got it!” Sylvia nodded. Since the opponents had been lurking within the villa, the area

outside should be safe.

Without any hesitation, she immediately got out of the car and said to some of the armored soldiers,

“All of you here, I need you to protect the God of War’s wife.”

“Got it!” They nodded.

Then, Sylvia and 20 armored soldiers rushed inside.

Willow was taken aback when she heard Sylvia mention ‘the God of War’s wife‘.”

Wasn’t the God of War’s wife Macy?

Zoey and Willow looked at each other.

“Willow, maybe you’re the God of War’s wife! I had the feeling that Macy was being odd!” Zoey

suddenly exclaimed.

“What? How’s that possible?” Willow asked, visibly surprised.

How could Caspian be the God of War?

“Who else if it isn’t you? It’s definitely not me!” Zoey said.

“Caspian told me that he’s a general officer, not the God of War,” Willow asked.

Zoey began to ponder. Suddenly, she remembered something that had happened before.

She said in a surprised tone, “That’s right! Back then when we came back from Dragon’s Hill, I think he

told us that he was the Diatoran God of War! But both of us said that he was just bluffing. Eventually,

he changed his claim and said that he was a general officer!”
