Chapter 632 I’ll Never Abuse the Law

“We achieved victory, but it was at the expense of our soldiers, who had paid a huge price. Many men

had died tragically,” Caspian said.

“If we start a war now, many more young people will die on the battlefield, and many more families will

lose people dear to them. Have you thought about that, everyone?”

Balthazar and his supporters all felt somewhat guilty after hearing that.

Even Balthazar was hesitating, too, now. He wanted to take advantage of Diatoran’s victories and strike

when the iron was hot, but he was also worried that problems would arise during the long–distance

war–Diatoran would be doomed should that happen.

Balthazar had planned to summon all five War Gods and hold a group meeting, but things had just

started to settle down in West and East Aridlands, so the other Champions had to stay there and

command operations in the areas.

Only two War Gods showed up: the Diatoranian God of War and Benjamin Dax, the Champion of North

Aridlands. Unexpectedly, though, Caspian had different opinions from him, which put Balthazar at a

loss on what to do.

“War is cruel in itself. A soldier’s responsibility is to protect their homes and guard their country.

Bloodshed and sacrifices are unavoidable.”

“Rather than being attacked, we should take the initiative to strike. Even if we don’t attack them, other

countries will come together in an alliance against Diatorian. We can seize this opportunity to wipe

these countries out!”

“Exactly! This is an opportunity that comes once in a blue moon, Your Majesty. We must not let it slip by

our fingers!”

Everyone started to voice their opinions again. They wanted to argue with Caspian.

Balthazar was wavering once again upon hearing those higher–ups‘ opinions.

“A massive war has just ended. We’re still suffering from the consequences. If we are to advance now,

it’ll be very dangerous.

“If the International Alliance strikes against us as well, Diatoran will surely lose the war. Have you

thought about this, everyone?” Caspian said sternly.

Everyone was in deep thought once again.

“If we embark on a long–distance military campaign, the International Alliance will surely not just sit by

and watch it happen. One incident might lead to another, eventually snowballing into an international

war!

“Many more people will be killed, and many more civilians will lose their homes. Have you considered

what the civilians would want before?”

At Riverside Villa, Willow took a call. “Hello? Do you need me for something?”

It was Melinda who was calling.

“I’m calling to ask for your help, Willow,” Melinda said.

“With what?” Willow asked.

“You must help me, Willow. I can only tell you what I need your help for if you agree to help me.”

Melinda knew it would be very difficult to rescue Henry, so she was also at a loss on how to ask Willow

for help with that.

“Tell me what you want first.” Willow was not dumb, either. The Stewarts were all very crafty and

calculating, so she had to get exact answers before anything.

“Henry was arrested by Caspian,” Melinda said.

“What? Wasn’t he safe and sound already? Why did Caspian arrest him?” Willow

asked in shock.

“That’s a long story. Henry committed treason with the Hudsons. After Caspian learned about it, he had

his men arrest Henry,” Melinda told Willow everything

she knew.

Willow was immensely shocked. She did not expect Henry to have become a traitor alongside the

Hudsons.

“Is this really true, Aunt Melinda?” Willow was in so much disbelief she had to reconfirm what she had

heard.

“It’s true. Alicia told me about it. She was there. Henry and the Hudsons were locked up,” Melinda said.

“Ah, Henry made the wrong decision! How could he do such a thing?” Willow snapped.

“It’s too late to comment on that. He might be possessed. No one can save him. aside from you,”

Melinda said.

“Traitors shouldn’t be forgiven. I can’t save him, either,” Willow said

“You’re Caspian’s wife, and Caspian’s the Diatoranian God of War. If you beg him for it, he’ll say yes to

you,” Melinda said.

“After Henry became a traitor, the Stewart family would be looked down on, too. He should be killed. I

can’t help you with that,” Willow refused sternly.

“Willow, Henry is family, too! How can you not do anything? He was possessed, and that’s why he did

the wrong thing!” Melinda said.

“He’s been of age a long time ago. He should pay the price for his actions,” Willow said angrily.

“If Henry dies, we’ll have no son in the family. Please, beg Caspian to free him. He’ll listen to you,”

Melinda begged.

“I have no relations with the Stewart family now. I’m the God of War’s wife. I can’t beg for a traitor to be

freed. He must die!” Willow said.

“The family will be left distraught if he dies. Your grandma has gotten old and cannot handle such

terrible news. Do you want to see the entire family collapse in grief?” Melinda said.

“I can’t abuse the law for the sake of my relatives. Henry is a traitor. He isn’t fit to be a member of the

Stewart family. Caspian is strictly impartial, and I’m on his side,” Willow said firmly.

“You’ve changed, Willow. You disappoint me,” Melinda said.

“How have I changed?” Willow asked.

“You’ve lost your humanity. You’re completely different from before,” Melinda. remarked.

“No matter what you say, I won’t beg on your behalf. I’m the God of War’s wife, and I must show my

stance on the matter instead of covering up my relatives‘ crimes,” Willow said sternly.

“Willow, please. We’re family, after all. Help Henry, please. You grew up together, didn’t you? And he

wasn’t really a traitor–he wanted to be but didn’t really do anything. Do you still have no intention of

helping him?” Melinda did not want to give up on her plan.

Willow was her only hope.

“Let’s discuss this after the results of the investigation are released. Who knows if he’s really defected

to the enemy?” Willow snapped exasperatedly.

“I’ll ask Alicia about what had happened, then,” Melinda said.

“Sure. Let’s discuss this after the truth is revealed. If Henry really didn’t betray the country, there might

be some room for maneuver,” Willow said.

In Jade Dragon Grand Hotel, Caspian and the other higher–ups were still yet to reach a conclusion

regarding the decision to start a war.

After hearing everyone’s opinions, Balthazar was at a loss for what to do.

“What if we do this? We can defeat the countries one by one. We’ll deal with one of the countries first

and see how it goes, alright?” Balthazar asked.

“This plan is great, Your Majesty! We can minimize the risks that way.”

“Exactly! If we can defeat one country, the others will be terrified.”

“Great! His Majesty’s idea is great. We can defeat these four countries one by one!
