Balthazar was about to rest for the night in his presidential suite when someone reported to him, “Your

Majesty, Sir Jerry Andrews has asked to see you.”

“Show him in.” It so happened that Balthazar was feeling troubled and wanted to chat with someone

“What do you want to see me for, Jerry?” Balthazar asked.

take the throne earlier,” Jerry said.

“You’re saying that Caspian will turn against me?” Balthazar asked, looking serious.

“I dare not insinuate that. I’m merely making a guess,” Jerry replied.

“Don’t make those ridiculous statements in front of me if you don’t have any concrete proof, or else I’ll

punish you for trying to sow discord between Caspian and I!” Balthazar was suddenly enraged.

“Please forgive me for my slight, Your Majesty. I’m just reminding you to be cautious,” Jerry said.

“Never will I be wrong about a person. After undergoing trials and tribulations for so many years,

Caspian has long matured. He has little ambition, too. I believe in him,” Balthazar said.

“You can never fully understand a person, Your Majesty. What if he’s always been hiding his real

intentions? I think you can give him a test, Your Majesty,” Jerry suggested.

“What do you mean by that?” Balthazar asked.

“Only the inner circle knows of your arrival to Southlake City. If someone attempts to assassinate you,

this surely can be tied back to Caspian,” Jerry said. “Why are you so certain about that?” Balthazar was

confused.

“Southlake City is his home turf. Who else can do that aside from him?” Jerry said.
