"Oh, crap." Leon muttered after Onyx's outburst. He had not expected the sudden spike in power. He knew something like that would probably happen, but the difference between the Onyx with yellow eyes and the one with red eyes was too vast! It was as if he was looking between a well and a river!

The reddened rock eye in the sky flashed with bright light, alerting Leon. He only had a moment to dodge before the spot he was standing on was blasted to nothing by a barrage of red beams. The firing pattern had also changed from a giant overpowering beam to dozens of smaller beams that peppered the ground with a constant barrage.

The space around Leon's body fluctuated and he found himself standing on top of Oris' back in the next moment. He was successfully saved from the barrage of red beams that had swallowed that area of the battlefield. However, he was not safe for long as the eye turned to face Oris. In the next moment, beams of red light streaked through the sky, testing the limits of Oris' maneuvering capabilities.

The sky lit up under the glare of the red beams. The dark form of the prestigious Dark Wing Eagle King soared through the sky, weaving and bobbing to evade the accurate beams of death that were fired his way.

Seeing that their master was in danger, the summons turned their attention to the rock eye that was in the sky. Kaladin led the mages to direct their firepower against the shield that protected the rock eye, joined in by Artox who had no choice but to lend his aid from afar.

An unceasing barrage of long ranged attacks pummeled the shield around the rock eye. Onyx watched all this with a furious expression in the sky. A lot of his summons had been killed already, and those that were still alive were too busy contesting against Leon's summons that were free.

"I will show you my full power!" Onyx growled and clenched his fists at his sides. A crimson-gold light burst out from his body as he grew in size. A second pair of wings appeared behind him and his muscles grew denser and more powerful. Dozens of golden portals appeared all over the battlefield and sky, pouring out all sorts of demonic summons.

Whoosh!

Onyx's four wings flapped and his body blurred. In a moment, he was right behind Oris, tailing the eagle in a bid to get his hands on Leon.

Caw!

Oris screeched as dozens of spatial blades formed behind and above him, creating a storm of spatial attacks to shred at Onyx. However, a black armor appeared over Onyx and he charged through the storm as if it was nothing.

Oris noted this with alarm and utilized his powerful control over space to create spatial binds to slow Onyx down. Then he created a spatial barrier around himself and Leon to protect them from Onyx.

A high speed chase in the sky ensued as a crimson-gold beam of light chased a pitch black beam of light. Invisible explosions and collisions took place in the sky as Onyx brute-forced his way through every attack and defense that was put up by Oris. The Dark Wing Eagle King would have already been caught by now if it was not for the fact that Oris was teleporting himself away from Onyx's grasp at random times.

However, such instant displacements were incredibly taxing on not only his body, but his mana reserves as well. Already, he was beginning to lose steam and Onyx loomed closer than ever before.

Just as Onyx was about to pounce on Oris and Leon, a crisp crack resounded through the entire battlefield. His body shook as he dispelled the state of complete focus that he had put himself in. He spared a bit of his attention to find a giant crack running through the barrier that protected his rock eye.

"NO!" Onyx realized how dire the situation was and pushed one massive burst of strength into his wings to give him the boost he needed. He appeared directly above Oris and grabbed onto the eagle's wing, tearing it off, before his other hand grabbed onto Leon.

CAW!

Oris let out a shriek of despair as he felt pain lance through his body, as well as the pain of failure to protect his master against such a formidable foe. In his eyes, the flashing lights from the beams that had not ceased chasing after them came closer. He resolutely made up his mind and used his last chance to make a drastic move.

The space around fluctuated and two figures appeared around Onyx that was still in the motion of grabbing onto Leon. His eyes narrowed, and just as he was about to flap his wings, he was shocked to feel his body suddenly weigh many times more, throwing off his concentration.

Whoosh!

A murky green light flashed over Onyx for a brief moment in his confusion, then Nero and Aristodemus swung their swords, chopping off Onyx's four wings in a smooth motion. To his shock, the green light had drastically weakened his physique and mental strength, allowing the two summons to damage him easily where Oris had failed.

"Fool, did you really think I was vulnerable up close?" Leon's voice thrummed through Onyx's ears as a black sword flashed across his neck. However, even weakened as he was, his neck was one of the most protected parts of his body. Leon's sword dug into it, but was unable to completely shear off his head.

"Guurrg!" Onyx growled and gurgled on the blood that was gushing from his half cut neck. He threw Leon away from him like Leon was the manifestation of all things evil and unholy in the world. In a way, he was not wrong.

Leon did not let Onyx go even as he was tossed away. He quickly reoriented himself in the sky and kept his latch on Onyx through Gravity magic. Although the demonic being had lost his wings, it did not affect his ability to fly. Rather, it only got rid of his teleportation ability.

"You tricked me!" Onyx growled at Leon.

"I simply kept a few tricks hidden." Leon shrugged in reply as his summons began to surround him.

"Fool! I will end you!" Onyx turned around to head for the rock eye that was still under assault when a giant, round figure slammed into him, sending him spiraling to the ground with much more force than usual thanks to the effect of gravity that Leon still had around him.

BOOM!

Artox followed Onyx down to the ground and crashed into him while still rolling his body, causing a great amount of damage to Onyx's already weakened body. With the debuff that Leon had given him, he was roughly equal to a High A rank.

Artox's body glowed brightly, and in the next moment, a large explosion occurred, obscuring the vision of those who were watching. The air was charged with violent mana as a few more violent explosions occurred.

It took a few moments for the dust to settle after the final explosion. Artox rolled away from the massive crater that he had created and unrolled his body, looking at the prone figure of Onyx in the ground.

Bzzt!

The barrier in the sky around the rock eye fizzled out and the doppelganger faded away as it lost its source of power. The bright glow of the rock eye also lessened.

Leon and his elite summons calmly landed in the crater, a couple of feet away from Onyx's prone form. The demonic boss' eyes had reverted to their original yellow and his body was clearly sapped of all energy.

"Y...you win." Onyx grunted as he stared at Leon from the corner of his eye. "You can kill me. Send me back to the beginning of my eternal slavery. But tell your master this. I shall have my revenge!" He declared, but his voice was cut short as Leon stabbed his sword into his head, ending his life.

[Congratulations! You have killed the Dungeon Boss, Onyx, The Crimson-Gold Summoner! You have leveled up!]

[You have leveled up!]

[You have leveled up!]

...

Leon felt a rush of energy flood his body as his level grew by leaps and bounds. Onyx had been a really strong enemy, but he was too arrogant and imperfect. If he had sat down quietly to grind down Leon's army before emerging to handle Leon, then it might have been a different case. Instead, he wanted to do everything at once. He was too impatient.
